Cosmetic Stability Testing (ISO/TR 18811)

Stability testing allows the evaluation of product behaviour under storage and use conditions, as well as the preliminary determination of shelf life.

Studies are conducted in line with ISO/TR 18811:2018 – Guidelines on stability testing.

Scope of Stability Studies

Physicochemical Stability

  • pH, viscosity, organoleptic properties, colour stability
  • Accelerated conditions: 40°C ± 2°C / 75% RH ± 5%
  • Freeze–thaw cycles
  • Photostability (UV exposure)

Microbiological Stability

  • Repeated microbiological testing at defined time points
  • Assessment of microbial growth risks in case of preservative failure

Packaging Compatibility

  • Formula–packaging interactions
  • Evaluation of moisture loss and volatile substance migration

Stability documentation forms an integral part of the Product Information File (PIF).
